Chamber of Commerce

Scranton, Pennsylvania

Globe.jpgProduced several multi-media, audio visual presentations (pre-PowerPoint & laptop), used exclusively by the Chamber of Commerce Office of Economic Development and The Mayor’s Office of Urban Development.

John Rossi managed all necessary photography of the region , script writing and in-studio audio recording, made technology recommendations, bundling of (and often carrying) these large, multi-projector systems. Separate presentations were developed for specific audiences including:

You’ve Got a Friend in Northeastern Pennsylvania—developed for the Chamber’s Visitors and Convention Bureau  used to promote tourism and awareness of the seasonal attractions offered by the region’s mountains, lakes, ski areas, and cultural events.

The Scranton Plan—was a targeted business message to national developers, corporations, state and federal agencies to attract private and public investment, preservation planning, and economic development for the region.

lackawanna.gifistoric%20lacka.jpgWith credit to the many dedicated citizens, business leaders, elected officials, and effective communications tools, The City of Scranton secured  $11M of investment capital by Hilton Corporation to preserve the Erie Lackawanna Rail Road Station converting it to a Luxury Hotel and Convention Center. By 1984 Scranton was well on it way to securing over $100M in state and federal investment to create Steamtown National Park—a heritage tourism attraction featuring the worlds largest collection of steam locomotives, displays, and operating tours.
