Served in newly created position as director of marketing for the largest ski area in Northeastern Pennsylvania and one of the first commercial areas to open in the state in 1959.
Drawing from experience as their advertising agency’s media director for three previous seasons, and being an EPSIA certified ski instructor, the marketing for the mountain was approached with insight to Philadelphia, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and Binghamton, New York media markets as well as keen knowledge of the needs and wants of skiers and family members of all ages.
In addition to directing all advertising for the ski area, new outreach programs were created such trade shows, direct mail campaigns, and welcoming new roles for corporate ambassadors, ski clubs organizers, and media/press representatives. The 1985 season highlighted the area’s million-dollar improvements of the main lodge and expanded snow-making capacity.
Scope of project: served as advertising agency media director for the Elk Mountain account, and then hired as full-time marketing director
