Working with us
As E.M. Forester once wrote, "Only connect." At the core this is what we seek—to connect with you and your organization's dreams, dreamers, and realities. To make them all come together in the most imaginative and pragmatic way possible. To become a partner in the truest sense.
We build community while others build buildings.
Our work has meaning and purpose beyond the measure of the project itself often to the betterment of people, place, and society. Our work is a testament to that which can be achieved by calling on ordinary people as extraordinary resources to shape their surroundings, organization, or campus. Empowering companies and educational institutions with a ‘deeper understanding’ of themselves to envision and create purposeful places has been and will likely always be at John Rossi Company's core.
We work with you as "entrepreneurial partners."
We have either owned or managed aspects of businesses over the past 25-years that have served owners and business leaders with complex creative services. We have cultivated insight to think as business owners and gained the fortitude to act more like your business partner. We understand the spiral of forces that can influence a project and what is expected of you in the eyes of your constituents. Thinking and acting on behalf of the client/owner, we ensure that creative and technical professional service teams are given clear and focused direction so they can deliver exactly what is needed.
We believe in participatory planning.
Our dynamic planning process gets to the essential truths and visions of your business, project, and eco-system of your community— we get to these results together with you, as defined by you, the client. Too often, projects are driven by a designer or firm's interpretation of who you are, what you want, or what you should be. We come in at Phase Zero and help you define the truths behind much of that first. We are known to ignite people’s spirit of community and renew self-identity. We draw from insights and feelings about an organization to give tangible, meaningful voice to a group’s convictions to create more purposeful projects and a more sustainable world. The result of this work defines the tactical framework for the project, its goals, and the programmatic details that will serve as the design criteria for the selected, multidisciplinary team to follow.
To see with one's own eyes, to feel and judge without succumbing to the suggestive power of the fashion of the day, to be able to express what one has seen and felt in a trim sentence or even in a cunningly wrought word—is that not glorious—a proper subject for congratulation? Albert Einstein, 1934
